Journalist Stipend Awards - Oklahoma Media Center

The Oklahoma Media Center’s Journalist Stipend Awards are given out to three individuals at the end of each quarter, starting in March 2025.

There is a Google Form to accept online submissions.

Student advisers and newsroom supervisors recommend journalists who have gone above and beyond to do exceptional work.

These awards can go to student journalists, early career journalists and veteran journalists.

Each award is $200 to incentivize initiative and show journalists they are appreciated.

A seasoned journalist judges the entries to determine award winners.

Awardees are recognized at group meetings and in the first newsletter of the next quarter.

Q2 2025 winners: Willie Gillespie of the OU Daily, J.C. Hallman of Oklahoma Watch and Graycen Wheeler of KOSU
